AccessHealth Earns Business of the Year from the Central Fort Bend Chamber
(November 14, 2024) — AccessHealth is thrilled to announce it was awarded Business of the Year by the Central Fort Bend Chamber.
“We are incredibly honored to receive the Business of the Year award,” said Mike Dotson, Chief Executive Officer, AccessHealth. “This achievement is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our exceptional team, as well as the trust and support of our community and partners. We will continue to innovate, grow, and deliver excellence in the years to come.”
AccessHealth, the largest safety net provider in Fort Bend County, has made significant strides in 2024, offering a wide range of essential services including Family Practice, Pediatrics, Dental, and Behavioral Health care. Committed to community health, AccessHealth addresses non-medical drivers of health (NMDOH) through initiatives like its Medical-Legal Partnership with Houston Volunteer Lawyers, which provides free legal aid to patients. In 2024, with support from Organon, AccessHealth launched the PRECARE and Wherever Women Are Project, setting a national example for postpartum care. Recognized by the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA), AccessHealth received 2024 badges for Advancing Health IT and Addressing Social Risk Factors. The organization also hosted its annual Back-to-School Health Fairs, distributing over 1,600 backpacks, school supplies, and free health services to families, demonstrating its ongoing dedication to the community’s well-being.
AccessHealth was nominated and voted, alongside 9 other exceptional businesses, by the community and Central Fort Bend Chamber Members. As outlined in the nomination, "AccessHealth provides very affordable services to our Fort Bend Community; they focus on our Youth & Seniors while providing services to everyone in-between. They are visible in the community by holding events each year. Mike and his team have been strong supporters of the Central Fort Bend Chamber, played a key role in our RISE campaign and have strong participation in Health & Wellness Day and in the Leadership Fort Bend program. They really work hard to make a positive impact in our communities."
