Laura Villegas, hailing from the vibrant landscape of Colombia, brings a diverse cultural perspective to her role as a board-certified Women's Health Nurse Practitioner. Her academic journey saw her earn a Bachelor of Science in Pathobiology and Psychology from the University of Toronto, followed by a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Nursing from Columbia University.
Since joining AccessHealth in 2014, Ms. Villegas has been a steadfast advocate for the underserved community, making meaningful contributions to Women's Health. Her comprehensive approach spans the entirety of a woman's lifespan, covering well-woman exams, hormonal issues, menstrual irregularities, menopausal symptoms, PCOS, vaginal infections, and prenatal care. Laura also performs various procedures, including contraceptive implant insertions, colposcopies, and biopsies.
Beyond her clinical commitments, Laura is actively involved in nurturing the next generation of Nurse Practitioners through her role as an educator. In her personal life, she finds joy in her family – a loving marriage and three energetic boys. Nature, yoga, biking, hiking, and global travel are among Laura's cherished pursuits, reflecting her zest for life. Fluent in both English and Spanish, she seamlessly bridges linguistic and cultural gaps in her patient interactions.
